ROBUST SOLID STATE COMPONENTS
The system is based on robust industrial grade components: compact industrial solid state PC, interface and data acquisition modules designed for use in harsh environments. The modules are connected to the computer via a simple high speed cable. Up to 28 16-input channel (infrared captors, wheels, lick meters, contacts, TTL…) and 10 5-channel output modules (lights, sounds, doors…) can be connected. The total distance of the cable between the computer plus interface and the data acquisition modules can equal 800 meters so that the control computer can be located far from the animal housing facilities. Optional wireless communication is also available.
INSTANT SET UP AND EASY DATA COLLECTION
The system consists of a miniature computer, single interface cable and input-output modules. Simply connect together, power-up and data acquisition will be initiated immediately. No complicated hardware or software installation necessary. The screen layout uses a simplified menu to navigate through the program options, configure the system, save data and view activity plots.
RECORD FROM UP TO 448 CHANNELS
Data can be recorded from up to 448 input channels from a variety of devices (infrared captors, wheels, lick meters, contacts, TTL). Input modules are simply chained together with a single cable.
CONTROL AND RECORD LIGHT CYCLES
Up to 50 output channels are available to control external devices (lights, sounds, doors, etc.). 24-hr light cycles or light pulses can be quickly and easily defined. Ambient light and temperature can be recorded with special probes.
SECURE DATA ACQUISITION
CAMS is dedicated to continuous, unattended, uninterruptible data acquisition without need for the experimenter to be present. The system can be programmed to automatically save data files at predefined intervals. Based on a solid state computer has low power consumption and automatically corrects for power failures.
